Company Overview
#

Vision Innovation develops functional injection-molding nozzle solutions that enable manufacturers to increase the use of recycled plastics in automotive components. Its technology focuses on removing gases, moisture, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) released by recycled resins during the injection-molding process, helping improve product quality while reducing energy consumption and manufacturing costs.

Technology & Product
#

Its core solution, Vision Nozzle, is a multi-type functional nozzle available in pin-type and screw-type configurations. Installed directly at the injection stage, the nozzle removes gases, moisture, and VOCs from recycled resin immediately before injection. Combined with a dedicated controller and AI-based process data analysis, the system aims to replace conventional pre-drying processes without requiring modifications to existing injection-molding machines.

By reducing drying time and improving process stability, Vision Nozzle enables manufacturers to increase recycled plastic content while maintaining consistent molding quality.

Market & Use Cases
#

The technology can support automotive interior and exterior plastic components, recycled plastic processing, injection-molding process optimization, VOC reduction, and sustainable manufacturing. Potential applications include increasing post-consumer recycled (PCR) and post-industrial recycled (PIR) material content in automotive supplier production lines, while reducing defects, drying energy consumption, and material waste.

Traction & References
#

Vision Innovation has validated its technology at five sites in Korea and overseas, reporting a reduction in defect rates from 4.7% to 1.1% and an increase in production output by approximately 1.8 times. Testing witnessed by KTR demonstrated CO gas removal exceeding 30%, reaching approximately 40% under specified PP+GF30 conditions. The company also reports that its technology can reduce pre-drying time from 2–8 hours to 0–2 hours and increase recycled material content from approximately 10% to over 30%.

Commercial traction includes an export contract in Vietnam, purchase orders in China, and an MOU in the EU. The core pin-type nozzle is at approximately TRL 6–7, with further development underway for larger-capacity nozzle configurations and AI-based process control.

Collaboration Relevance
#

For Mercedes-Benz and its automotive supplier network, Vision Innovation’s Vision Nozzle could enable higher recycled-plastic content in injection-molded components while reducing manufacturing defects, drying energy consumption, and material costs. A pilot on existing supplier production lines could help assess its contribution to recycled-material targets, VOC reduction, and the EU End-of-Life Vehicles (ELV) regulatory requirements without requiring major changes to existing equipment.
