Company Overview#
Textway is a Korean deep-tech company that builds enterprise AI for long-form text. Its platform reads internal documents such as policies, claims files, reports, and articles, then returns answers with the exact source passage. The system runs on-premises or in a private cloud, so documents never leave the customer’s network.
The company was founded in 2022 and is based in Daegu. It works in production in Korean and English today, and other languages can be brought up on a customer’s own documents during a pilot.
Technology & Product#
tB Server is the company’s enterprise product. It turns unstructured documents (PDF, HWP, DOCX, TXT) into a connected knowledge graph while keeping provenance, permissions, and relations intact. Every answer carries its source span, and the system keeps a full audit trail. Textway is also preparing tB Media for newsrooms and tB Hub, a cloud knowledge service.
The core technology is the PISA engine. Instead of matching keywords, it breaks text into predicate-centered units and builds a knowledge graph that it searches by structure. This lets it handle hard cases such as negation, exceptions, and “who did what to whom”, where keyword search and standard RAG often return the wrong answer. A deterministic function blocks any generated text that is not present in the source, which reduces hallucination.
Market & Use Cases#
Textway targets organizations that depend on large volumes of complex text. Typical customers include public institutions, media companies, financial groups, and utilities. Common use cases are internal knowledge search, document question-and-answer, auto-tagging, and article production support for newsrooms.
Because it keeps data on-premises and records the source of every answer, Textway fits regulated sectors such as insurance, finance, and public services, where auditability and data control matter most.
Traction & References#
tB Server launched as a commercial enterprise product after proof-of-concept deployments with more than 30 organizations, including public institutions, daily newspapers, and a maritime antenna manufacturer(AI Market Watch). License revenue in 2025 was KRW 394 million, with a PoC-to-paid conversion rate above 20%(AI Market Watch).
In 2025 the company was selected for the DeepTech TIPS program and the Youth Startup Academy deep-tech track(AI Market Watch). It raised a seed extension round from impact investor MYSC through the KAIST-MYSC Double Impact Fund, announced in November 2025(Venture Square), and earlier secured investment from accelerator Y&Archer(Hankyung).
For global expansion, the company completed a PoC and a patent filing in Singapore with local partner Tictag, and it is collaborating with San Jose State University in the United States(AI Market Watch).
Collaboration Relevance#
Textway fits enterprises and public bodies that need trustworthy AI over sensitive, text-heavy archives. Its on-premises deployment and source-linked answers make it a strong PoC candidate for insurance, banking, utilities, and government, where general chatbots cannot meet audit and data-control rules. A typical pilot runs on one document class the customer chooses and is measured against the customer’s own benchmark.
For Korea-Europe collaboration, Textway can bring up German-language support on a partner’s own documents during a pilot, which opens insurance and other regulated-industry use cases in Europe. The engine is modular, so a second document class reuses the same system with only a new domain vocabulary.
