Company Overview#
AIT Studio is a digital healthcare company that turns a single camera into a clinical-grade tool for gait analysis. The founding team comes from KAIST mechanical engineering. Its members have backgrounds in automotive computer vision, consulting, and biomechanics. The company holds one of Korea’s largest collections of walking data. It builds its products around movement checks that are fast and easy to access.
Technology & Product#
The main product is MEDISTEP, a walking-analysis device that runs on an iPad. It is markerless, which means nothing is attached to the body: no wearables and no external sensors. The AI runs right on the device and reads how the joints across the whole body move, using just one camera. In about one minute, it produces about 40 walking metrics, such as walking speed, stride length, balance, and joint angles. The product line consists of MEDISTEP M Pro, a Class I medical device for hospitals and clinics, and MEDISTEP M, a non-medical version for fitness, senior care, and wellness settings. It delivers approximately 95% accuracy compared to gold-standard motion-capture systems (Vicon, Qualisys, GAITRite), verified through third-party testing, at a small fraction of their cost.
Market & Use Cases#
MEDISTEP is used by hospitals, rehabilitation clinics, elderly and senior care, and public health screening. The technology works well for quick mobility checks in places where traditional motion labs are too slow or too expensive. That makes it a good fit for both clinical assessments and large-scale community health screening.
Traction & References#
AIT Studio is expanding into the North American and European markets with MEDISTEP(BioTimes). In Korea, MEDISTEP M and M Pro have completed domestic medical device filing (Class I notification)(Newswire). MEDISTEP holds CE-MDR Class I certification and ISO 13485 certification, with an EU Authorized Representative in place in Germany. The company raised a Pre-Series A funding round led by Bluepoint Partners, with East Gate Partners and MAGNA Investment also taking part(WOWTALE). MEDISTEP is now used by several major Korean university hospitals, including Asan Medical Center, and by Felix Platter Hospital, a university geriatric and rehabilitation hospital in Basel, Switzerland. AIT Studio unveiled the MEDISTEP series at CES 2025(Newswire). It also received NET (New Excellent Technology) certification and was designated a 2025 Innovation Product by Korea’s Public Procurement Service, the government agency that buys products for public use(Newswire). It is part of the IBK Changgong Mapo cohort(Tech42).
Collaboration Relevance#
AIT Studio is a strong fit for European clinical testing, for use in hospitals and rehabilitation centers, and for distribution partnerships. Its early clinical work in Switzerland makes it easier for European partners to get started. A proven track record in Korean university hospitals, along with its public technology credentials, makes it a credible partner for clinics and distributors moving into new markets.
